Another night at Penn State, drinking at university gate apartments at the age of 21 isn't fun anymore.

BoarDome - Cloud Computing DAVID BUITER

BoarDome will be able to increase their efficiency with the addition of Cloud-computing. This form of computing offers a fast on-demand network acces which allows the user to access shared computing resources. Along with the quick access, it can be performed with minimal effort or service provider interaction. Service models such as the software, platform and infrastructure models will need to be installed in order to allow this form of computing to operate.

Cloud-computing comes in two forms, private and public offering a form of computing for either the client of the service provider. The business will be able to put strategic methods such as viability, scalability and support policies into effect. These can also raise issues within the business that can be discussed and overcome. Along with the positives of cloud-computing, a few technical issues may arise such as compliance rules, privacy, openness and security. Privacy and security are to be highlighted as these two are both important to the client and the service provider and should be put as highly important issues to deal with. We can cover the issues in a service level agreement.

Cloud-computing comes with it's own applications such as grid and edge computing as well as the convergence of computing and telecommunications. All offering there positive, grid computing offering the capacity to solve large scale computing problems, edge computing offering increased web application performance and communication advantages such as voice over IP (VoIP) and videoconferencing over IP which lye under 'Convergence of computing and telecommunications'.

Overall BoarDome will be an improved organisation with an organized database and an improved computing system.
